The department of Mathematics is one of the leading departments in the college. It was started in 2015 with 12 students and two staff. The objective of the department is to enrich mathematical knowledge of men and women from the rural background.

The Department of Mathematics offers a broad and challenging academic program that changes the perspective of the students in line with the mission of Loyola College of Arts & Science. To enable our students to develop a mastery of reasoning and analytic processes, problem-solving, critical thinking and become a pro-active learner.
To prepare our students towards a better career in private industries, government sectors, and in research.
Objectives & Goals:
To enrich the students from rural background with mathematical knowledge.
To train the students with critical analysis upon the day-to-day problems with the mind of Mathematical professionals.
To prepare them to pursue higher studies and to research in the field of Mathematics.
To train the students to deal with the problems faced by industries through the knowledge of Mathematical, Statistical and Scientific Computational techniques such as Operations Research, Graph theory and Probability Theory.
To provide students with knowledge and capability in formulating and analysis of mathematical models in real life applications.
