The Department of Computer Applications was Started in the year 2017-2018 academic year with the objective of imparting quality education in the domain of computer applications. With rapidly evolving technology and the continuous need for innovation, the department has always produced quality professionals, holding important positions in Information Technology industries in India and abroad. One minor projected were completed funded by DST-NIMAT for conducting Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp to our college students. Currently, one minor project funded by DST is under progress. The staff members of the department serve as Chief Guest of Association inauguration in various colleges, members of staff selection committee of other colleges, members of organizing committee of various conferences of international and national level and members of editorial board of research journals. To adhere to the motto of the Department "Professional Excellence", the Training and Placement Cell of the Department has helped to place students in various MNCs.

Association Details:
The department has conducted its association inauguration on 24-07-2025. Dr. R. Pugazendi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Government Arts College, Salem, delivered the guest lecturing about the field of AI - ROAD MAP. We conducted a two days workshop on 06-01-202 & 09-01-2025 AI TOOLS AND GRAPHICS DESIGN jointly organize with Green CAD TECH, Rasipuram.
Students Achievements:
1. Our student secured 1st and 2nd prizes in the Ethical Hacking event at the National-level symposium FUSION BYTE-2K24, held at Periyar University.
2. Our student won 2nd prize in the ADZAP event at the intercollegiate meet Pixel Show, held at Muthayammal College of Arts and Science.

Our Department promotes Computer Literacy to other department students. It is also involved in devising and developing basic knowledge of computer Applications.
