The Department of Chemistry was established in 2016. At present, the department offers only undergraduate course B.Sc. Chemistry. The department provides a pleasant learning atmosphere with spacious and well-furnished classrooms. The department enjoys the special status of being the only department that has a sophisticated and well-furnished laboratory that catches the attention of everyone who walks into the college campus. Since, it is affiliated to Periyar University, Salem, it follows the syllabus pattern of the University. Formal lectures will be made more effective and useful by providing students with synopses of lectures and bibliography. Besides lectures, there will be assignments, guided library work, seminars, group discussions, projects, etc. Audio-visual aids, models, laboratory work, workshop and field experience will also form part of the teaching process. It also runs eco-club activities for all the college students.
