Loyola College, Mettala, is a minority Catholic Co-Educational Institution, Affiliated to the Periyar University, Salem.
The Department of Commerce was started in the year 2015. It has a noble vision of imparting knowledge and technical skills to meet the demand in the world of commerce. It offers two courses B.Com from 2015 & B.Com AF from 2022. It offers superior quality, affordable and professional education with a view to build graduate and post graduates with highly laudable and leadership qualities. The department intends to enlighten the graduates to be in right endeavor by developing their distinct competitive edge in the human values and professionalism which will lead them to be successful, globally employable and entrepreneurial graduates in the dynamic environment. Hence forth, the department apart from class room teaching it molds the students through various academic and co-curricular activities under the banner of Royal Department Association. Our department frequently organizes guest lecturers by various experts in the wanted topic to enhance the practical knowledge. It arranges industrial visits to know about the real industry need. It organizes seminars, conferences, quiz, group discussion etc., to improve the in-depth subject knowledge of the students. Therefore, the faculty of commerce is the crown of the college and holds 208 student strength in our Department. In the upcoming years, the department is going to start coaching class for professional courses like CA, ICWA and Company Secretary ship.

He has completed his B.Com & M.Com in St.Xaviers College (Autonomous) Palayamkottai and pursued his M.Phil in Madurai Kamarajar University. He has 26 years of experience in teaching of Commerce students. His area of interest includes Cost Accounting. He is pursuing his doctoral degree in Commerce A prolific motivator of students who come from rural backgrounds.

She completed undergraduate studies at Sri saradha College for Women, Salem and pursued her postgraduate degree at Government Arts college for Women . Following this, she obtained her M.Phil from Periyar University in Salem. She completed her Ph.D in Dravidian University. With a professional experience spanning 14.4 years, she has authored papers in various esteemed journals. Her research interests predominantly revolve around Human Resource Management & Marketing.

He completed his B.Com, M.Com and M.Phil in Thanthai Hans Roever College Bharathidasan University. Perambular He completed his MBA in Anna University; He has 16 years of experience in teaching Commerce students. His area of interest includes Financial Accounting. He is pursuing his doctoral degree in Rathnam College, Coimbatore. A dynamic motivator of students who come from rural backgrounds.

She Completed her undergraduate & Post Graduate studies at Sree Saraswathi Thyagaraja College, Pollachi . Following this, she obtained her M.Phil from Periyar University in Salem. With a professional experience spanning 10 years, she has presented Papers in National and International conference. Her research interests primarily revolve around Cost Accounting and Auditing.

He completed his B.Com, in St. Joseph College, Trichy Bharathidasan University and pursued her M.Com & PGPMIR in Annamalai university, He has Completed his M.Phil in Madurai Kamarajar University, He has 21 years of experience in teaching of Commerce students. His area of interest includes Corporate Accounting.

She completed undergraduate studies at St.Mary's College of Arts and Science for Women, Thoothukudi, and she pursued her M.Com in Alagappa University Following this, she obtained her B.Ed from P.S.N.L College of Education, Sattur With a professional experience spanning 8 months. She has presented Papers in National Conferences. Her area of interests primarily turns around in Principles of Management.

He Completed his undergraduate studies at Subramaniyam Arts And Science College, Mohanur, Namakkal and pursued his postgraduate degree at Selvam Arts And Science College, Namakkal. Following this, he obtained his M.Phil from Vivekananda College, Tiruvedakam, Madurai . He completed his Ph.D in. Vivekananda College, Tiruvedakam, With a professional experience spanning 14.6 years, He has authored papers in various esteemed journals. His research interests predominantly revolve around Corporate Accounting & Financial Accounting.
Department of commerce and Accounting finance organised association inauguration on 04.08.2023, by Mr. U. Ravindaran, VET PAK CMC(Salem) delivered the inaugural address. The program was followed by enlightening the students on the importance of business. It encouraged not only students but also the faculties. It turned out to be a platform for every individual present in this institution. The guest motivated the students and presented calculators to the freshers.
2.On 13.1.2024 Department of Commerce and Accounting finance organised Pongal celebration and they conducted various competition related to Tamil culture. The fiesta which stands out as deeply rooted in traditional agriculture and the spirit of community symbolizing their gratitude for the harvest and deep connection to land which is none other than Pongal. The Pongal 2024 was joyous and filled with abundance and prosperity. The event was marked by conducting traditional games such as Folk dance, Rangoli, Pongal, Tug of war, Balloon bursting and much more . The chief guest presented the prizes to the winners. This event was a resounding success.
3.On 23.12.2023 Department of Commerce and Accounting and Finance Conducted one-day workshop in the topic of Exploring banking opportunities in the digital era, by Mrs. Faustina Mary. Assistant Manager, SBI A.O . The guest speaker spoke on the entire banking structure of India. She made the session lively by interacting with students and asking extensive questions on banking technology. Students participated in the interaction with enthusiasm. This event created awareness about the bank exams.
4.On 20.2.2024 Department of Commerce and Accounting finance conducted CA awareness programme by Auditor Ayyanar. He delivered the speech about their constraints in college due to tamil medium and how he broke the obstacles and became a successful chartered accountant. Next Dr. Chella pandiyan conducted job oriented career guidance session and explained the various jobs opportunities related to commerce field such as ICMA, ICS, CA, Government exams and tax consultant.
5.On 13.3.2024 Department of commerce and Accounting finance organised International conference on Embracing The Digital Horizon: Pioneering Commerce And Management Strategies For A Transformative Future (EDH 2024) by Prof. Dr. Chinnah Anbalagan, Samara university, Ethiopia. He referred to areas such as innovations, design and technology providing business environments by using digital technologies such as cloud, mobile, AI etc., Dr. Gnanaprakasamchinnappan, RVS Kumaran Arts and Science college, Dindigul, highlighted the insight of digital horizon in finance and Accountancy
1. Department of Commerce inaugurated the Commerce Association for the Academic Year 2024-25 at Loyola College of Arts and Science, Mettala, on July 23, 2024 at 10:15 A.M by the Chief Guest was S. Rex Christi Raj, Proprietor, S.S. Agrow Tech (P) Ltd., Namakkal. He gave the speech in the topic of: The Fuel of Entrepreneurial Innovation.The resource person highlighted the importance of Successful Innovation. How to Manage business with full efficient and critical thinking for which work has to be done. Afterwards he explains how to overcome from the losses and become the successful business entrepreneur. He provides new techniques with perfect example of newton's third law cutting the example of Dhurbhai Ambani for perfection in business and how to manage a business in difficult situation. He described new strategies for new business investors (Start Up) with his ideas and techniques. Resource person explored strategic opportunities for new ventures that can be categorized along two dimensions: attitude toward incumbents and attitude toward the innovation. This produces four distinct strategies that will guide a venture's decisions regarding customers, technologies, identity, and competitive space Afterwards the students has asked and clarifies doubts from guest.

Department of Commerce Organized the World Entrepreneurs day for the Academic Year 2024-25 at Loyola College of Arts and Science, Mettala, held on August 23, 2024 at 11:30 A.M by the Chief Guest Mr. R.Glen Sebastin Proprietor, S.S. Agrow Tech (P) Ltd., Namakkal. He gave the speech in the topic of: "Empowering innovation Entrepreneurial mindsets for a Changing world" The resource person explained the Goal setting to the students. He stated setting goals means that a person committed thought, emotion, and behavior towards attaining the goal. In doing so, the goal setter has established a desired future state which differs from their current state thus creating a mismatch which in turn spurs future actions.
3. Department of Commerce organized industrial Visit for the academic year 2024-25 on 14.8.2025 to S.S. Agrow Tech (P) Ltd., Namakkal .The industrial visit to the poultry farm was organized to gain practical knowledge about poultry farming and management. The farm is one of the leading producers of eggs and chicken in the region
4. Department of Commerce organized industrial Visit for the academic year 2024-25 on 19.9.2024&20.9.2024 to Hatsun Agro Product Ltd, a leading dairy company in India, welcomed us for an industrial visit. The visit aimed to provide hands-on experience and insight into the dairy industry's operations, processes, and management.
5. Department of Commerce organized Guest Lecture for the Academic Year 2024-25 at Loyola College of Arts and Science, Mettala, held on 03.1.2025 at 2.00 P.M .He spoke on the speech in the topic of: Investment Mr. P.Suresh, Regional Manager, Muthoot Finance Ltd...was the resource person who clarified that about the investments depend on several factors, but based on its performance and business fundamentals, Muthoot finance has maintained strong financials with, consistent revenue and stability and profitability.
6. Department of Commerce organized the Workshop for the Academic Year 2024-25 at Loyola College of Arts and Science, Mettala, on 14.2.2025 at 9.15 A.M by the Chief Guest He gave the speech in the topic of: Practical Learning Session on Income Tax and GST Mr. Paul Raj & Co, Auditor E-Filling Service, and Salem. He gave elaborated on about income tax filling returns, GST filling outcome, E-filling and how to keep accurate records& how to build the new business and strategies.
7. Department of Commerce organized the Commerce State level Symposium for the Academic Year 2024-25 at Loyola College of Arts and Science, Mettala, on 28.2.2025 at 9.30 A.M by the Chief Guest He gave the speech in the topic of: Social Entrepreneurship. The resource person highlighted the importance of Successful Innovation "Social Entrepreneurship". He addressed the social problems through innovative and sustainable business models. Social Entrepreneurs use business principles to create positive social change. Often focusing on undeserved communities.
